This is the question we hear most, and the honest answer is: it depends on what the chatbot needs to do. So here we separate two very different jobs that are both called a chatbot.

A basic chatbot that answers questions

This is an assistant that knows your price list, opening hours, service descriptions and the answers to questions your guests and customers keep asking. It is placed on your website and answers in Serbian and English. Such a solution takes about two to three working days, and the price is roughly €500.

A chatbot that books and connects to your systems

If the chatbot needs to check free slots in a calendar, take a reservation, send a confirmation or write an enquiry into your system, the job is bigger. Such a solution starts at about €2,000, because it has to be connected, tested on real examples and set up so it does not make mistakes with a date or money.

What else affects the price

• How much information the chatbot needs to know and how much of it is ready to enter.
• Whether it should also work on Viber or WhatsApp, not only on the website.
• How many languages it answers in.
• Whether it should hand the conversation to a person when it does not know the answer.

Running costs

A chatbot is not a one-off purchase. There are costs for the AI service and hosting, and it helps to have someone watch conversations and refine answers in the first weeks. Ask in advance what is included in the price and what is charged monthly.

What to watch for when you ask for a quote

• The quote should say exactly what the chatbot does, not only that it has artificial intelligence.
• Ask for an example conversation for your business, not a general demo.
• Check what happens with your customers data.
• Ask who fixes problems after delivery.
